One of the biggest reasons people want to give up their sugar gliders is smell or they are just having to many joeys. Did you know that you can have your male glider neutered? The procedure is easily done by a vet who sees these exotic pets. If you have a sugar glider and don' have a vet, please email Hope_for_gliders@comcast.net and we will try to help you find one. If you live in the Dallas TX area a great vet is Dr. Murray at 972-247-2221, he has neutered over 60 male rescues for us and we have never had a problem.
Neutering will help reduce the scent marking of the males and will allow your females to live longer. Its been said that for every baby joey a female glider has that that takes 8 months off her life. Make sure you gliders are healthy and happy, neuter your boys.
